The WICE event on October 23, 2009 was a key symposium experience for women within the utility industry to gain helpful knowledge on how to better advance their careers. The audience participated in a delightful morning training exercise called “Developing Your Emotional Intelligence” provided by Rita Murray. This training session allowed the audience to partake in both building and strengthening their social skills.
During the afternoon, the panel discussion enabled everyone to hear from insiders who perform various functions throughout the utility industry. There were a total of four panelists: Kim Harriman, Hilary Ayala, Michael Corso and Kathleen Franco all of whom accurately informed the audience of exciting new plans in the near future for utility service across New York State.
In closing, between the training exercise and discussion of smart grid technology and the vastly improving telecommunications network infrastructure, the event was a pleasant, educational experience that I was proud to attend.
